Fort Saint John the Baptist

The fort of São João Batista in Fernando de Noronha was built in 1737 by the Portuguese to protect the beaches of Sancho and Cacimba do Padre, the last beaches on the inside sea.

The fort is located  on the slopes of Dois Irmãos hill, was part of the defense of the Northwest sector of the island and that   can be accessed along the Sancho trail and its_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ Beautiful views also overlook the Bay of Pigs.

The look is fantastic, wonderful, the structure was in ruins, but it will be possible to get good photographs in addition to imagining how beautiful it was.

This fortification was erected in the year de  1757 com plant  in the form of a trapezoidal polygon with three batteriesin the form of a trapeze, with artillery for six pieces and could cross fire with Fort São Pedro do Boldró.

The place is very popular, the tour will leave any visitor enchanted with the beauties of the region.

Remember to be equipped and don't forget to take only photographs of the place,  o  Forte ´´is a wonderful place.
