Igreja Nossa Senhora do Rosário - São Thomé das Letras
Our Lady of the Rosary

The Nossa Senhora do Rosário church, Catholic, located in São Thomé das Letras, Minas Gerais, was listed by the Municipality, they claim that the slaves built such a space, initially for practices of Afro-descendant rites and only in 1995 that the place was transformed, in fact , in a Catholic Church.

For a long time, it is believed that the church  remained unfinished due to the revolt of the slaves at the Campo Grande Farm   around 1833.

There are reports that around 1974 the chapel returned with its construction, no longer remaining in ruins.

With the original architecture  unchanged, made of overlapping stones taken from the region itself.

A church that remains historically and visually preserved.
