Lopes Mendes beach
Considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the country.
Lopes Mendes beach is located on the ocean side of Ilha Grande, in the municipality of Angra dos Reis, state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The beach is completely uninhabited, bordered by exuberant sandbank vegetation with many apricot trees. about 3 km long, it is characterized by fine white sand and shallow waters agitated by many waves.
The transparent waters display various shades of blue. Despite being shallow and suitable for swimming, the strong waves attract many surfers.

Many tourists reach the beach along a path in the bush that starts from cove of palms, with calm waters, located on the other side of Big Island.
The rough sea makes it difficult to dock boats, but with calmer waters it is possible to dock on the left side of the beach.
Boats arriving at this cove daily bring tourists from Vila do Abraão and other parts of the island with the aim of visiting Lopes Mendes.
