Sao Conrado beach
The locality received the name of São Conrado due to the homonymous church, built in 1903 by Conrado Jacob Niemeyer to be frequented by wealthy families who had begun to reside in farms in the region.
Surrounded by the hills that separate Barra da Tijuca, the main neighborhood in the south of Rio de Janeiro, Praia de São Conrado is easily accessible, although it is more isolated from other beaches in the city.
With just over 2km in length, Praia de São Conrado has white sand and sea with strong waves, which are the biggest attraction for surfers in the region.
